Our Services

We believe that healing after abuse takes time, and that every woman’s journey is different. Our aim is to create a safe, compassionate environment where women can begin to heal, rebuild their confidence, and move forward after abuse, at their own pace and in a way that feels right for them.

We don’t believe you have to be ‘ready’ for a particular service before you can receive support. Sometimes, the first step is simply having someone there. We will walk alongside you, offering a listening ear, practical support and encouragement, and helping you find the right support when something falls outside of what we can provide.

We understand that joining a group or talking openly about your experiences isn’t always possible straight away. For women who aren’t ready to join our peer support sessions, we can offer individual check-ins, including regular weekly contact where appropriate. Sometimes that might mean simply listening and being there. At other times, it might mean helping with forms, talking through what’s happening, helping you understand your options, or supporting you to take the next small step.

There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with, and no expectation that you have everything figured out. We are here to meet you where you are, walk alongside you, and help you find your way forward.

Our main programmes are Peer Support and Understanding Trauma, but support at Anchored in Hope is about more than attending a course or a session. It is about connection, understanding, and knowing that you don’t have to walk the journey alone.

Peer Support

Our weekly peer support sessions provide a safe, supportive space where women who have experienced abusive relationships can come together to connect, learn, and heal.

Currently held online, each session we explore topics that support recovery and rebuilding. These guided discussions encourage reflection, shared experiences, and practical tools in a respectful and supportive environment.

Understanding Trauma

Our Understanding Trauma programme is an eight-week course that explores how trauma affects the mind and body. Together, we’ll learn why we respond the way we do, reflect on our own experiences in a safe and supportive environment, and discover practical techniques to help manage trauma responses and support healing.

Our aim is not just to explain trauma, but to help you understand yourself with greater compassion and confidence as you move forward on your healing journey.
